He trained at JIPMER, Pondicherry, and then spent 10 years in the UK at the University Hospitals of Leeds and Sheffield, where he completed his FRCS in Orthopedics and a Pediatric Orthopedic fellowship. He briefly served as Consultant Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeon at Sheffield Children’s Hospital before returning to India in 2009.
