Dr. O. N. Bhakoo is one of India’s most distinguished and pioneering neonatologists. Widely regarded as the founding father of Neonatology in India, he was the first Pediatrician at PGIMER Chandigarh and established the country's first DM Neonatology program in 1989. He developed neonatal care systems, indigenous neonatal equipment, and modern NICU practices that transformed newborn survival across India. Dr. Bhakoo has served as a national advisor, WHO expert, and mentor to generations of pediatricians and neonatologists.
