He is involved in the diagnosis and treatment of haematological cancers, including leukaemia, lymphoma, and multiple myeloma, as well as the management of thalassemia. He played a pivotal role in establishing the Institute of Haematology and Transfusion Medicine at Medical College, Kolkata, and contributed to postgraduate education and research in haematology.
